Lucknow: With the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) festival approaching, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has intensified preparations across the western zone to ensure peace, communal harmony, and smooth law and order management during the festive period.
A high-level security review meeting was held at the Dubagga police station premises under the western zone command, where senior police officials assessed the operational blueprint for security and traffic management across sensitive areas of Kakori circle and adjoining regions.
The meeting was chaired by senior officers including DCP West and ADCP West, with participation from all station house officers and field officers of the Kakori circle.
Officials reviewed detailed security arrangements for Eid prayers, public gatherings, and designated sacrifice sites. Special focus was placed on crowd control, traffic diversion plans, and deployment of additional forces in mixed-population and sensitive pockets across Dubagga, Kakori, and surrounding rural-urban stretches.
During the meeting, ACP Kakori presented a detailed mapping of sensitive zones and high-footfall areas. Authorities finalized route plans for police patrolling, night surveillance, and rapid response deployment at key intersections.
Cyber Surveillance and Anti-Rumour Measures Activated
Police officials emphasized that a dedicated cyber surveillance mechanism has been activated to monitor social media platforms including WhatsApp, Facebook, and other digital networks to prevent the spread of rumours or provocative content during the festive season.
Authorities stated that strict legal action will be taken against individuals found spreading misinformation or attempting to disturb communal harmony. Police teams have been instructed to initiate FIRs and preventive action under relevant legal provisions where necessary.
Strong Focus on Traffic and Crowd Management
A comprehensive traffic management plan has been prepared to handle increased movement in markets and near religious sites. Diversion points, parking zones, and emergency response units will be deployed to ensure smooth vehicular flow and public convenience.

Senior officers reiterated that maintaining uninterrupted public movement and ensuring safety in crowded areas remains a top priority for the police administration.
Community Coordination and Peace Committees Activated
The meeting also emphasized continuous coordination with religious leaders, local representatives, and peace committees to ensure mutual cooperation during the festival period. Officers were directed to maintain regular communication with community stakeholders to avoid misunderstandings and ensure harmony.
Officials further stated that CCTV surveillance, drone monitoring, and quick response teams will remain active in sensitive localities across the western zone.
Police Warning Against Rumour-Mongering
Police authorities issued a strong warning that any attempt to disrupt peace or spread misinformation during Bakrid will be dealt with strictly under law. “Strict action, including arrests and preventive detention, will be taken against those attempting to disturb public order,” officials said.
Residents have been urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and report any suspicious activity immediately through local police stations or the emergency helpline 112.
